Trump’s VP Running Mate – Indiana Gov Mike Pence
Trump formally unveiled his Vice Presidential Candidate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, at a press conference in New York on Saturday morning. Pence may not be as well known as some of the other choices, but he is a great American and his low key personality is a good balance for Trump’s in your face style.
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

Of course, the left is already taking potshots at him through left wing rags like the New York Times. They are calling him “out of step with the times” and someone of no consequence, and are desperately putting him down as someone that is “slow to bend” on issues.
Frankly, that’s a good thing. A little less compromise on key issues by Republicans would be a good thing.
Gov. Pence is a traditional Conservative in his political stand and in his actions. He is staunchly pro-life, which should help with the Evangelical vote. He believes in smaller government, a strong military, economic growth, and budgetary responsibility. He is a strong Christian, which may or may not be of help.
Pro-tax cuts, not higher taxes, balanced budgets
As Governor, he has proven himself to be business friendly, and on the side of tax-cuts, which should help with the economy.
According to his website,
Since taking office in 2013, Pence has achieved the largest state tax cut in Indiana history while also lowering the business personal property tax and corporate income tax to strengthen the state’s competitive edge in attracting new investment and good-paying jobs for Hoosiers.
He has expanded school choice, increased educational opportunity for Hoosier families by signing into law the first State funding for pre-K education in Indiana, and addressed Indiana’s skills gap by making career and technical education a priority in every Indiana high school. And, because roads mean jobs here in the Crossroads of America, under his leadership the state has invested more than $800 million in new money for roads and bridges in Indiana.
The Governor has worked with the Indiana General Assembly to craft an honestly balanced budget that maintains strong reserves for the State and continues to generate a surplus. This fiscal discipline has helped Indiana maintain its AAA credit rating and earn a global reputation as a great place to do business.
Experience on the Hill
He has experience that Trump may lack- he served 6 terms (12 years) in Congress prior to becoming Indiana’s Governor, and has built relationships with many on the Hill. If his constituents sent him back six times, there is something good to be said – in spite of the left’s finger-pointing about his tenure there.
Possible Fund-raising ties
He has fund-raising ties that Trump lacks. While on Capitol Hill, he made strong connections to the Koch Brothers, who flat haven’t liked Trump. This choice may change their minds.
Gov. Pence is married with three children.
