Trey Gowdy, the Representative from South Carolina, easily won re-election with 67% of the vote. His Benghazi Committee report was completed in June, 2016. But is he done with Hillary Clinton? Probably not.
It was the Benghazi committee headed by Gowdy that accidentally discovered Hillary’s private email server. The subsequent fallout for Clinton has been tremendous, and is part of what cost her the election. But Trey Gowdy is a former prosecutor, and he likes to get to the bottom of things.
In an interview with Maria Bartiromo the Sunday before the election, Gowdy said that the DOJ has become politicized, and that there should have been a special prosecutor.
“Congress can’t fix it, but the American people can.”
He previously said the following when the testimony of James Comey was given. The frustration of someone who values the law and the Department of Justice was evident in his remarks.
“There is sufficient evidence, both direct and circumstantial, upon which a jury could conclude an intent to violate the law. This evidence includes concealment of evidence, destruction of evidence and false exculpatory statements – all of which fall under the general heading of consciousness of guilt.
It would appear the investigation is back to the status quo ante, which means Director Comey believes Secretary Clinton was indeed extremely careless in her handling of classified material.
Yet there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to prove Secretary Clinton had specific intent to violate a statute which specifically provides for the lower statute which specifically provides for the lower scienter [word meaning knowledge of the wrongness of her actions] standard of gross negligence.” Trey Gowdy
So will Trey Gowdy be finished with Hillary Clinton? Not by a long shot. While some media are saying nothing will happen to her, let’s pay attention to what happens after January 20. Even if Obama pardons her from this mess, all they need to do is bring her back to testify on the Clinton Foundation. If she lies, BAM!
