Fort Carson, Colorado – The tiny daughter of an American Soldier couldn’t wait to hug her daddy during a deployment homecoming ceremony. So she “broke protocol” and “ranks” and ran across the auditorium to hug his legs. Satisfied with her hug and Daddy’s response, she ran back across the room to her seat.
No one was mad at her, formation or not
Lt. Daniel Oglesby’s daughter, Cara had enough of waiting for her father to return from an 8 month deployment with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. They had spent their tour of duty in Southwestern Asia.
But Cara spotted him from a “couple rows back” and ran towards him.
Her Dad said he “was trying to decide whether or not it was good practice to break formation, but I didn’t have the heart in me to not give my little baby a hug.”
The crowd ‘approved’ and broke into applause.
From KKTV, we want to say once again to all the soldiers who returned yesterday: welcome home!http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/homecoming-331034542.html
