Targeting Guns in Common Use – Dems Admit Their Intent

Wednesday was the Judiciary Committee Hearing on HR 1808, the “assault weapons” ban.The Democrat-led bill entitled the “Assault b Weapons Ban of 2021” targets guns that are in common use and the 2nd Amendment and the Supreme Court be damned. Chairman of the hearing, Rep Jerry Nadler, openly admitted that banning of commonly used firearms is the intent, and said that the “common use” is the actual problem when confronted by Rep Dan Bishop (R-NC).

“Would anyone on the other side dispute that this bill would ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today?” Bishop asked.

“That’s the point of the bill,” Nadler replied.

“So, to clarify, Mr. Chairman, you’re saying it is the point of the bill to ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today,” the Republican representative pressed.

“Yes,” Nadler clarified. “The problem is that they’re in common use.”

Rep Bishop also chided Rep Cicilline, who introduced the bill.

“What you suggest that this order can possibly comply with what the Supreme Court has held in now three separate cases is absolutely absurd. You defy the Supreme Court of the United States in the same way the Democrats mounted massive resistance to Brown v. Board of Education. We’re going to explain that for the American people in the course of this hearing. The Democrats of the 1960s are the Democrats of the 2020s.”

So to put it mildly, the Democrats are literally giving the middle finger to the Supreme Court. They could care less about the three Supreme Court rulings on the Second Amendment of recent years. The right to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed… but the Democrats are in the process of infringing it on a massive scale. The National Shooting Sports Foundation says that there are at least 20 million AR-style weapons in the United States. It’s a bloodbath waiting to happen.

In McDonald v City of Chicago, the Supreme Court ruled that “self-defense is a basic right recognized by many legal systems.” Democrats don’t believe in self defense, they want you to call police. But as we’ve seen in recent cases, police aren’t always coming in time, and there is no guarantee that they will act when they get there.
