Sen Marsha Blackburn introduced two amendments for the 2023 NDAA that were designed to at least slow down the march toward wokeism in the US Military. Democrats shot them both down.

The Blackburn amendments: Democrats stopped them
Sen Blackburn’s two amendments to the NDAA were voted down by Senate Democrats. The “Stop Experimenting With Military Children” amendment was designed to allow parents to be the center of their child’s education. It required teachers to notify the parents of “any matter relating to their child’s mental, emotional or physical health or well-being.” It flew against the narrative that teachers found it ‘appropriate’ to keep secret from a parent a child’s transition from male to female or vice versa. The amendment also required schools to notify parents of any health care the child might receive – which would theoretically prevent any school from giving a vaccination or treatment without the knowledge of the parents.
The second proposed amendment was, “Keeping Our Military Focused On Lethal Threats.”
“Instead, Joe Biden’s military leaders are secretly attempting to turn our brave war fighters into social justice warriors,” language accompanying the text stated.
The amendment would have required the under secretary of defense to brief Congress on spending related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. It would also empower Congress to use its power of the purse to monitor DOD spending and keep the agency from using funding as a “blank check” for DEI spending.
The senator points to a letter from Defense Secretary Mark Milley to Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., the ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, from earlier this year stating that the military spent 5,889,082 man hours on climate change and DEI activities.Fox
The US Air Force also spent $68 Million on DEI issues. [DEI = Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.]
The Pentagon assures us that the men and women in our military can indeed protect our nation. History is cyclical. There are situations coming that will ultimately reveal whether or not that narrative is true.
