Three high school students were murdered on Tuesday at Oxford high School in Oakland County, Michigan. Eight others were wounded, including one teacher. The suspect is in custody. He is a 15 year old who stole his father’s SigSauer 9mm that was just purchased on Nov 26. The three victims were 16 year old Tate Myre who died in a patrol car on the way to the hospital, 14 year old Hannah St. Julian, and 17 year old Madisyn Baldwin.
UPDATE: a 4th student,Β Justin Shilling, 15, has died, bringing the death toll to 4.
Tate is being hailed as a hero for attempting to disarm the suspect. Police were on scene approximately 5 minutes after the shooting, and gathered up Tate into a patrol vehicle to get him to the hospital as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, he died in the police car.
“One of our deputies, due to the severity of wounds, loaded up one of the children in his car and sadly, that child died in the car,” Bouchard said at a press conference. “One of our employees who was in the 911 center as part of the team taking the emergency calls, had a relative killed. This touches us all personally, deeply and will for a long time.”
“We will leave no stone unturned.”

According to reports, the shooter attempted to lure some students out of their barricaded classroom by saying he was a deputy. The ruse failed, as students recognized that it was unlikely a police officer would use the term “Bro” and bailed out the window to make a run for their lives.

It has not been confirmed who it was at the door, but thank god those kids made it to safety!

Warning signs:
Rumors were floating around the school about this incident, since the shooter was posting things about it on social media (Instagram). School officials knew of the rumors and concerns, but failed to do anything after claiming they “investigated” them. Police said they are investigating the accounts, but it’s a little late now.

Yikes. Oxford high school officials knew of a threat to the students and staff yet failed to do anything. Students and parents brought the concerns of a video circulating warning of a shooting and officials completely dismissed it. Iβm disgusted. Our children deserve better pic.twitter.com/82ie3WTPEX

It appears the alleged school shooter held a countdown on his Instagram before killing and injuring students today at Oxford High School.

The suspect is allegedly Ethan Crumbley, 15. Police have not confirmed his name, but the social media accounts are fairly clear. One student told news meda that Crumbley had been “bullied.” Not a plausible excuse for becoming an active shooter of your own classmates.
