In a speech to Miami-Dade College in Florida, Obama hinted to the the audience that the reason Obamacare wasn’t doing well is because of racism against a black president.
“The Affordable Care Act has done what it was designed to do. It gave us affordable health care. So what’s the problem? Why is there still such a fuss? Well, part of the problem is a Democratic president named Barack Obama passed the law. That’s just the truth..” Barack Obama
Actually, you idiot, the opposite is true – it’s not doing at all what it was “designed to do”…or is it? If it was designed to destroy forever the middle class in the United States, then yes, it’s doing what it’s designed to do. Because the “Affordable Health Care Act” is anything but affordable. That’s not racist, that’s the truth.
Premium hikes – Even Bill Clinton acknowledged that Obamacare has issues
In Idaho, based on just my own experience: retired, but not eligible yet for Medicare (many states are incredibly higher than these figures, these are only basic examples):
2008: Premium for basic policy: $259 per month (one person) $5000 deductible
2014: Premium Price $390+ per month. One insurer dropped out, leaving only one choice. $5000 deductible
2016: Premium for basic policy: $573 per month (one person) $6850 deductible
2017: Premium for same basic policy: $712. per month (one person) deductible as yet unknown
Blue Cross of Idaho’s rates for individuals buying their own plans will go up an average of 23 percent. Company officials say the increase is needed after Blue Cross lost millions of dollars because current customer premiums are not keeping up with claims paid.
Last year, the company’s average rate increase for individual policies was about 15 percent. That year, the company paid nearly $221.1 million in claims while receiving $188.7 in premiums. The Idaho Statesman
Liberal websites have gone above and beyond the call to hawk that prices “fell” under Obamacare. The ACA never took into account an aging population having more medical needs. Or maybe they didn’t care, which is my theory.
Insurers leaving the ACA system
According to The Hill:
“UnitedHealth has announced it is pulling out of the Obamacare exchanges,” Cruz wrote in a statement. “That’s the latest in a string of Obamacare failures that have led to American families losing their doctors, having few or no insurance options, and facing skyrocketing premiums and deductibles.”
The Obama administration has sought to get out in front of the coming ObamaCare premium hikes, in part by downplaying their likely impact.
A report released by the Department of Health and Human Services this month, for example, asserted that once the law’s tax credits are factored in, the effects of premium increases on consumers would be modest.”
Premiums for the middle class have doubled. Fewer doctor visits are allowed in the basic plans. Deductibles are sky-high and insurance companies won’t pay for anything that isn’t past the deductible. They also have ways of not paying for things after the deductibles have been met.
Many people have incomes that sit too close to the cutoff for the subsidies, so they can’t get government money to help with premiums.
Thanks, Obama, you’ve managed to single-handedly destroy healthcare in the United States.
