More Biden Nominees from Obama Administration

biden nominees

In the ever present place where Biden has no originality of his own, many of his nominees are from the Obama administration. We’ve written about many of the main positions previously, many of whom came from the Obama administration as well.

One of them, Anita Dunn, is actually a person who had to resign from the administration in 2009 because of her statement praising Communist dictator Mao Zedong. She was named by Biden as a Senior Adviser.

Anita Dunn resigned from her post as the White House communications director in 2009 after Fox News surfaced a clip of her praising Mao as one of her “favorite political philosophers.”…

…“Anita Dunn brings decades of experience managing and winning political and advocacy campaigns and advising our nation’s leaders at the highest levels of government,” a press release from the Biden-Harris transition team states.

Dunn was the senior advisor to Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. She was named as the co-chair of the Biden-Harris transition team in September last year. She served as the chief strategist for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and went on to become the White House Communications Director. In 2012, she helped Obama prepare for the presidential debates. She also worked in a number “of roles in and out of government for former Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle and former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley,” according to the transition team.

Then there is Wendy Sherman, who led the US negotiations for the disastrous Iranian deal. Biden intends to reinitiate that agreement. She is nominated for Deputy Secretary of State. (Fox)

Then we have Victoria Nuland, whom Biden nominated for Undersecretary of State for political affairs. She was previously assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs in the Obama administration.

Biden Defense Department picks: L- Wendy Sherman, C-Victoria Nuland, R-Kathleen Hicks

Two more Obama diplomats, Bonnie Jenkins (nominated for undersecretary for arms control and international security affairs) and Uzra Zeya (nominated for undersecretary for civilian security, democracy and human rights).

Brian McKeon was a long time Senate aide to Biden, and is nominated for deputy secretary of state for management. Kathleen Hicks is the nominee for Deputy Secretary of State. She was a Pentagon Official under Obama. (Politico)

As we previously reported, Biden’s picks for the main cabinet positions are problematical, since many of them served in the Obama administration. He finally settled on retired General Lloyd Austin for Secretary of Defense. Are you up for a 3rd Obama term? Seems like we’re headed that way.
