Miss America Org Suspends Miss Puerto Rico for Anti-Islam Tweets

By Faye Higbee

The Miss America Org. has suspended Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez, indefinitely for tweeting against Islam…they say her tweets were hateful and intolerant. But were they “hateful” or were her First Amendment rights violated?

Not hateful – truthful. She directed her tweets at Michael Moore, who had posted a picture of himself holding a sign that said “#WeAreAllMuslim.” (Note: we are not and never will be. Just sayin’) He posted it just after Donald Trump made his now infamous statement that all Muslims should be prevented from entry here temporarily. Her 1st Amendment rights were completely destroyed.

The Miss America organization suspended her indefinitely, calling the tweets offensive and not according to their organization standards. The Miss Puerto Rico organization also suspended her indefinitely.

The Daily Mail wrote,

Miss Puerto Rico Destiny Velez has been indefinitely suspended by the official Miss America Organization after sending a series of offensive anti-Muslim messages on Twitter.

Velez, 20, launched an anti-Muslim tirade at filmmaker Michael Moore on Thursday after he shared a photo of himself outside of Trump Tower in New York City with a sign reading: ‘We are all Muslim.’

Moore’s photo was in response to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump‘s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US, which inspired the hashtag #WeAreAllMuslim on social media.

Her tweets were not what I’d call a “rant,” or even a “tirade,” although the news media called them that.

Political Correctness

This politically correct penchant for America and everyone else is despicable and evil. Even beauty contestants are banned from having an opinion.

Ms. Velez is openly a Christian, and Muslims hate us. The powers that be wish to not just marginalize us, but crush us from having the freedom to speak openly about anything. As far as Michael Moore, he is a dimwitted liberal. He’s not worth the time of day to yell at him.

But Ms. Velez did, and it cost her the crown. Hopefully, this will be a blessing in disguise for her.
