The incident occurred just prior to 3 p.m. school dismissal. Because of the number of people injured, it is classified as a “mass casualty” incident. Broward County Sheriff has notified local hospitals to expect numerous victims, many of whom may be students. Authorities say they believe the shooter is a student who attended class earlier in the day.
The gunman was described as wearing a black hat, a maroon or burgundy colored shirt and black pants. He was last seen on the west side of a three story building on campus. WSVN reported that the shooter is now in custody.
