Intelligence Report on Foreign Election Interference Delayed

Friday, December 18 was the deadline for am intelligence report on foreign election inteference in 2020. The deadline was set by both Executive Order and Congress. But DNI Director John Ratcliffe was notified that the report would be delayed: because the various intelligence agencies have not “finished coordinating on the product.”

Will Chinese Influence be Revealed, or Another Deep State Nothingburger?

“This afternoon the DNI was notified by career intelligence officials that the Intelligence Community will not meet the Dec. 18 deadline, set by executive order and Congress to submit the IC’s classified assessment on foreign threats to the 2020 U.S. elections. The IC has received relevant reporting since the election and a number of agencies have not finished coordinating on the product.” Amanda Schoch, spokeswoman

The term “career intelligence analysts” doesn’t exactly inspire confidence with some of us.

The Intelligence Report

China promised to interfere in the 2020 election early in 2020. Openly promised to do so, but people tend to ignore such blatant posturing. It has never been wise to ignore China- they are devious and dangerous. Under President Trump’s 2018 Executive Order, US intelligence agencies had 45 days after the election to determine foreign influence in an election, and prepare a report on it. You can read Executive Order 13848 here. It allows sanctions against any foreign state that interferes in a US election.

Trump in the order declared a national emergency to deal with the threat of election interference, and stated that “the ability of persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States to interfere in or undermine public confidence in United States elections, including through the unauthorized accessing of election and campaign infrastructure or the covert distribution of propaganda and disinformation, constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.”…

…In recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and Internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity of the threat of foreign interference, as illustrated in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment.

In a separate article from The Epoch Times, a Tech expert named Patrick Byrne has been checking into the voting systems since August 2020. He states that the vote manipulation can be traced to China.

“There’s a chain of command basically from China through Iran to Cuba and Venezuela,” he said. “The Chinese are funding Smartmatic through the Panamanian division of Smartmatic, but it bounces through Venezuela.”

“There is code buried within the Dominion machines that has been turned up that seems to show Chinese provenance.”

“There are Chinese developers under the hood of this stuff back in China who are actually getting their software into the Smartmatic systems which have infiltrated at least two of the main voting systems used domestically.”

“I say this as a guy who loves China,” he adds. “I speak Chinese, I have a great affection for China and the Chinese people—but I’m not such a big fan of the CCP.”

Even though both Smartmatic and Dominion have denied any wrongdoing, Byrne stated there’s an ownership structure that’s concerning, from corporate mergers to licensing agreements that allowed Smartmatic software to be present in two voting systems in use in the US – including Dominion.

“There are six counties that you need to steal. If you steal these six counties around the country, that flips the six states they’re in, which flips the electoral college votes that come with them, which flips the nation. You’ve got to take six places and cheat like crazy there.”

With the intelligence report now “delayed,” there are questions: how long will it be delayed? Did it find anything of “relevance” to the election, or is all the “coordinating” of the “product” a fancy way of saying homogenizing it to remove the important information? Or, as Richard Grenell stated, is it to protect it from being politicized? Inquiring minds want to know.
