President Trump backed off the initial idea of changing the age of purchasing a rifle and placed it back on the States, at least temporarily. His DOJ has moved to ban bump stocks, and increase background checks. He has also assigned Secretary of Education Betsy Devos the task of chairing a committee to investigate the idea of school safety.
Very strong improvement and strengthening of background checks will be fully backed by White House. Legislation moving forward. Bump Stocks will soon be out. Highly trained expert teachers will be allowed to conceal carry, subject to State Law. Armed guards OK, deterrent!…….

If schools are mandated to be gun free zones, violence and danger are given an open invitation to enter. Almost all school shootings are in gun free zones. Cowards will only go where there is no deterrent!

….On 18 to 21 Age Limits, watching court cases and rulings before acting. States are making this decision. Things are moving rapidly on this, but not much political support (to put it mildly).

President Trump’s proposals are:
- Hardening our schools: The Administration will make sure our schools are safe and secure—just like our airports, stadiums, and government buildings—with better training and preparedness.
- Strengthening background checks and prevention: President Trump is supporting legislation and reforms to strengthen the background checks system and law enforcement operations.
- Reforming mental health programs: The President is proposing an expansion and reform of mental health programs, including those that help identify and treat individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others.
- Keeping the conversation going: In addition to these immediate actions, President Trump is establishing a Federal Commission on School Safety, chaired by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, to recommend policy and funding proposals for school violence prevention.
These ideas represent a departure from the preliminary information coming from the White House a couple of days ago. Liberals were licking their proverbial chops in hopes of destroying the Second Amendment entirely. And they thought they had someone who would cave to their agenda immediately. It didn’t happen exactly the way they had hoped. But the 2nd Amendment is still in jeopardy after the Parkland shooting.
We are not in favor of changing gun legislation currently on the books, especially when the Parkland Shooting was completely messed up by the schools and county law enforcement. People died because they did not do their jobs.
