Georgia Dems Introduce Assault Weapons Ban…and Confiscation
HB 731 has been introduced in the Georgia House of Representatives that mimics the bill introduced in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. (HB 4269). It is designed to ban all “assault weapons” and defines one so broadly as to virtually ban any weapon that is not bolt action or single shot. That’s not counting the ammunition restrictions listed in the bill.
Georgia’s HB 731 is sponsored by six democrats, all women. The sponsors are: Mary Margaret Oliver (D-83rd), Stacey Abrams (D-89th), Carolyn Hugley (D-136th), Pat Gardiner (D-57th), Dar’shun Kendrick (D-93rd), Dee Dawkins-Haigler (D-91st).
The summary of the bill reads as follows:
“A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the O.C.G.A., relating to dangerous instrumentalities and practices, so as to prohibit the possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets; to provide for crimes involving the possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets; to provide for criminal penalties; to designate certain weaponry and ammunition as contraband and to require seizure of such by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.”
Ban and Confiscate
As with HB 4269 in the House, this proposal bans every firearm in AR or AK platforms. Shrouds, threaded barrels, Suppressors, large magazines, you name it they are all listed. And the bill, as the main one, states that confiscation is required for weapons listed as contraband.
As with all moronic liberals, they do not understand what a weapon is for. They think they’re all used for “deer hunting.”
“Georgia needs debate about these weapons which are only used for rapidly killing people. Assault weapons are not necessary for deer hunting.” Mary Oliver
Actually, they need to debate what to do about idiots who do not understand the concept of self-defense. Heads up, Georgia!
