The Frostproof homicide suspects have been arrested by Florida authorities. The sheriff described the ringleader as “pure evil in the flesh,” because Tony “TJ” Wiggins, 26, has 230 prior criminal charges, 15 convictions, and 2 stints in prison. Note: he was out on bond from a previous charge when the murders occurred.
We previously reported the murders of three fishing buddies who went night catfishing together. The Sheriff described the murders as the worst he’d ever seen.
Frostproof homicide suspects
Tony Wiggins has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Because the murders violated his pretrial release on an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge from March, he is not eligible for release on bond.
“He’s a thug, he’s a criminal.” Sheriff Grady Judd
His girlfriend, Mary Whittemore, 27, was charged with accessory after the fact of a capital felony. His brother, Robert Wiggins, 21, was charged with tampering with evidence and accessory.
Damien Tillman was being beaten when his other two friends arrived. The attackers immediately turned on them and started shooting.
The only motive police could find had something to do with Tony Wiggins’ truck. “Where’s my truck? I heard you stole the engine out of my truck.” Was the statement made by Tony Wiggins.
“This is a guy who can hurt you because it’s the right thing for him to do in that moment in time with his three brain cells.” Sheriff Grady Judd
Not sure he has that many brain cells, Sheriff. He appears to be a full-on psychopath/sociopath just based on his violent proclivities.
“After the brutal killings, the three suspects drove to McDonald’s, where they ordered 10 double cheeseburgers, and two McChicken sandwiches, authorities said. The next morning, Robert Wiggins took his truck to a car wash in Lake Wales to wash the clay from it.”
Fortunately, these three suspects of the Frostproof homicide were caught relatively quickly. The investigation continues.
One thing should stand out: this is a massive case of gun control failure. Tony Wiggins had a horrendous felony arrest record and was still able to obtain a firearm. Obviously, he didn’t waltz into a gun store to buy it. Gun control did not stop this incident- that’s why it’s a failure, and always will be.
