Since the radical left has infiltrated every political realm these days, their hate for Christianity has increased exponentially to the point that they no longer hide it. There are plenty of excuses, but the COVID-19 pandemic has given them new license. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is attempting to require churches to give lists of the names, phone numbers, and addresses of all who attend church services. Then there’s a NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson, who stated he wants the field hospital set up by Franklin Graham’s Christian group Samaritan’s Purse out of Central Park because they’re “bigoted.” And that’s not the half of it.
In Kentucky, churchgoers on Easter were met with police recording their license numbers at the behest of Governor Andrew Beshear (Fox). There were also nails scattered at every entrance to the church parking lot. News media called it the work of “vigilantes.” Did police put them there? It’s a fair question. In the name of Covid-19 rules, the First Amendment went by the wayside.
A federal judge ruled that the Kentucky shutdown on churches was unconstitutional. But that hasn’t stopped other people from similar actions.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas
Take the Kansas City Mayor, Quinton Lucas. He demanded that churches provide a list – keep a record – of anyone attending an in-person church service. The ‘list’ has to include name, address, phone nmber. The excuse? ‘Covid-19 tracking.’ He says it’s the same as the rules for “non-essential businesses” under the Mayor’s 10/10/10 rule. Which is pure baloney. Just hand out the yellow stars that the Nazi’s used for Jews and call it what it is – an out and out attempt to destroy the First Amendment.
His 10/10/10 rule states, according to the Washington Examiner:
“Most non-essential business operations that are open to the public (such as non-essential retail stores and personal care services) can resume in-person operations provided business operators follow the ’10/10/10 rule.’ The 10/10/10 rule specifies that these businesses must limit the number of individuals on-site (inclusive of employees and customers) to no more than 10 percent of building occupancy or 10 people (whichever is larger), and record the names, contact information, and approximate entry/exit time of all customers who are on premises for more than 10 minutes.” Kansas City Mayor
That went over well. Not. The Kansas City Mayor is now getting “blowback” and well he should. Suspending the Constitution because of a virus has been out of control since this thing started. And it’s not justified by the facts (The Hill). Even requiring that rule for businesses is unconstitutional and an interference with normal commerce.
“Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined Nazi-like measures designed to surveil, track and spy upon what was once a free American people. That is exactly what Kansas City’s misguided government officials are now demanding.” Mat Staver, the Liberty Council
New York City
Then there’s The Daily Wire article about Corey Johnson, a New York City Council speaker. As far as he’s concerned Christians are hate-filled bigots because they believe in traditional marriage. You can’t have a differing opinion anymore because that’s not politically correct.
“It is time for Samaritan’s Purse to leave NYC. This group, led by the notoriously bigoted, hate-spewing Franklin Graham, came at a time when our city couldn’t in good conscience turn away any offer of help. That time has passed. Their continued presence here is an affront to our values of inclusion, and is painful for all New Yorkers who care deeply about the LGBTQ community. I’m aware that our battle against COVID-19 is still ongoing, and that our health care system—and the amazing workers who have been the heroes of this unprecedented time in our history—still needs support.” Corey Johnson
Who’s the “bigot” again?
New York City wanted to ban Chick-Fil-A because of their stand on traditional marriage (Fortune Magazine) last year. This time, the LGBTQ groups were so afraid that Samaritan’s Purse would ban gay people from getting treatment, that De Blasio made them sign a document that said they cannot turn away anyone.
Wait…Samaritan’s purse requires their people to sign a document too. Which was the subject of Johnson’s rant:
“Samaritan’s Purse requires its volunteers to agree to a written affirmation ‘that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female.’ Hate has no place in our beautiful city.”
This left wing jackwagon has NO proof that Samaritan’s purse violated their agreement with NYC, because they treated everyone brought to them. And they are as much heroes as every other medical worker that faced COVID-19 to treat whoever needed it. Although they are leaving in two weeks as things level out.
The hate is not coming from Christians. The unconstitutional actions of Governors, Mayors, and assorted lawmakers are a harbinger of what is to come, and all who believe should pay attention. From the Kentucky Governor to the Kansas City Mayor, and the NYC council speaker, things are requiring lawsuits in order to force these people to adhere to the Constitution. Heads up.
