A French police officer in the Paris suburb of Magnanville was stabbed 9 times in the abdomen as he returned home from work. The killer then took the policeman’s wife hostage along with his 3 year old son. Police stormed the residence shortly before midnight local time after negotiations with the suspect failed.
Two police officers dead, suspect “neutralized”
They shot and killed the suspect. But they were too late to save the officer’s wife, also a police officer… she was dead when they got into the residence.
Doctors are attending to the child.
The suspect was reportedly a neighbor of the officer. People reported hearing him yell “Allahu Akbar” as shots were fired and explosions erupted.

The officer, Deputy Chief Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, 42, was stationed at Les Mureaux and was formerly at Mantes-la-Jolie. His wife was an officer stationed at Mantes-la-Jolie.
Bernard Cazeneuve, current Minister of the Interior for France, will arrive on June 14 to speak with police officials and express solidarity.
Police are understandably shaken over this incident. When police officers are not even safe in their own neighborhood from Islamic terrorists, it is horrifying to say the least. Deputy Chief Salvaing was in plain clothes at his own home when he was attacked.
One tweet says it all: “Saint Martin, patron saint of the police of France, we will entrust our brother Jean-Baptiste. Drive it with God. #RIP #Magnanville”
