Democrats and Republicans alike have attacked James Comey’s nuclear decision to re-open the FBI investigation so close to the election. But as we have mentioned before, when one team is cheating on the field, it’s time for a referee to intervene.
The FBI found the emails from Huma Abedin “weeks ago,” but since their warrant was specifically for the sexting case on Anthony Weiner, they had to seek a new warrant. Comey was briefed on what they found on Thursday, and made the decision to notify Congress on Friday.
CNN: FBI discovered new emails weeks ago; stash includes classified emails “likely” deleted by Clinton https://t.co/M2fzLjq5wR

The timing is causing ripples through the campaign. John Podesta (you know the one who is mentioned in literally thousands of emails) decried Comey’s decision by saying, “He might have taken the first step of actually having looked at them before he did this in the middle of a presidential campaign, so close to the voting.”
Sure. Just sift through thousands of Huma’s emails real quick and say ‘never mind.’ Officials say they may not be duplicates, and in fact some may be the deleted emails from Hillary’s private server. Abedin has said the whole thing is “news to her.” The laptop where they were found allegedly belongs to Weiner.
Scrambling to save their political lives
Then there was that letter signed by 100 former prosecutors and DOJ officials complaining about Comey’s decision breaking with “tradition.” The Clinton camp distributed that one, of course.
But a memo from Saturday regarding Comey’s decision stated that he felt it was important to let the American people know what they had found. “I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record.”
Calls to step down
The Chicago Tribune is not known for its right wing statements, yet on Saturday, one of their reporters called for Hillary Clinton to step down and let Tim Kaine take her place. As of Monday, it is 8 days before the 2016 Presidential election. Probably not a good time to switch horses. (Sorry for the insult to the horses).
“It’s obvious the American political system is breaking down. It’s been crumbling for some time now, and the establishment elite know it and they’re properly frightened. Donald Trump, the vulgarian at their gates, is a symptom, not a cause. Hillary Clinton and husband Bill are both cause and effect.
FBI director James Comey‘s announcement about the renewed Clinton email investigation is the bombshell in the presidential campaign. That he announced this so close to Election Day should tell every thinking person that what the FBI is looking at is extremely serious.” John Kass, Chicago Tribune
Step down- everybody has yelled for candidates to step down in this race. Tim Kaine is just as bad or maybe worse than Hillary, as we have reported. So let’s leave all the players in place and ask the people of America to drop kick the Democrats into oblivion at the polls on November 8. That’s the only fallout that matters.
