Drug Cartel Member Suspected of Killing Brian Terry Arrested

Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes has been wanted since 2010. On Wednesday, he was arrested in Mexico by a US-Mexico law enforcement joint task force. He is accused of killing U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry with a gun supplied by the Federal government in December of 2010. The death of Agent Brian Terry exposed the Fast and Furious gun running scandal.

The U.S. had placed a $250,000 reward for information leasing to an arrest. According to the exclusive Fox report, he was captured at a ranch on the border of two Mexican states, Sinaloa and Chihuahua. American authorities plan to ask for extradition.

.According to Fox News:

Terry was killed on Dec. 14, 2010 in a gunfight between Border Patrol agents and members of a five-man cartel “rip crew,” which regularly patrolled the desert along the U.S.-Mexico border looking for drug dealers to rob.

The agent’s death exposed Operation Fast and Furious, a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) operation in which the federal government allowed criminals to buy guns in Phoenix-area shops with the intention of tracking them once they made their way into Mexico. But the agency lost track of more than 1,400 of the 2,000 guns they allowed smugglers to buy. Two of those guns were found at the scene of Terry’s killing.

Eric Holder

The Fast and Furious scandal was one of the myriad of horrific actions of the Obama administration. Losing track of that many guns to ruthless killers may have resulted in hundreds of deaths.

The 5 person “Rip Crew” of cartel members that were part of the Terry murder have now mostly been caught and are serving sentences. Only one remains at large, Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga.

Eric Holder, the head cheese in the Justice Department, ended up in Contempt of Congress for failing to turn over documents relating to the scandal.  He was the first Cabinet member in history to be held in Contempt of Congress.

Holder, now a “prominent” attorney, is currently in the employ of the state of California to “fight Trump.” In 1969, he and his fellow activists occupied the ROTC center at Columbia University, and renamed it the “Malcolm X Center.”
