“At a glance, I thought it was a couple of old ladies driving a little car.” Harry d’Entrement
Yarmouth, Canada – Harry was having coffee with a friend, when he noticed a small red car towing a trailer. As soon as it got closer, he realized it was occupied by two dogs. The joyride started outside an animal hospital, where the owner had left his car.
Making a break for it?
According to CBC, “It turned out, the drivers were dogs. One was in the driver’s seat and the other was in the passenger’s seat, making what looked like a getaway from the animal hospital.”
“I was kind of speechless. I couldn’t make sense of what I was seeing…My friend said, ‘Man, what’s that? A dog driving?… The car was just kind of rolling, not too fast, coming right in the road.”
“…as they slowed down and got closer they realized a dog was driving the car! And another dog was in the passenger seat! They even appeared to be looking for traffic.” Charlene LeBlanc
Drivers gave the right of way to the vehicle and decelerated as it rolled forward. The red car stopped at the centerline. The two men got out of their car, and stared at the two dogs in the front seat of the red vehicle as it passed. They snapped a picture to prove they weren’t losing it. But they were both doubled over in hysterics before the vehicle owner ran out of the animal hospital to put an end to the frivolity.
The owner of the dogs apologized profusely. He had left his Pontiac Vibe in neutral, and it rolled out of the driveway and onto the street to continue on its slow motion doggy joyride. No one was injured, and people had a good laugh.
“It’s the funniest thing I’d seen in years.” Harry d’Entrement
