House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) released an email that came from the Assistant Directors of the FBI Counterterrorism and Criminal Division that directly contradicted Garland’s previous testimony to the House Judiciary Committee. Did: AG Merrick Garland lie to the committee? The FBI created a “threat tag” called EDUOFFICIALS to track instances of angry parents. The documents came from an FBI whistleblower.

Merrick Garland testified that the FBI wasn’t targeting parents.

We now know the FBI is “tagging” parents they consider threatening.
The Attorney General has some explaining to do. https://t.co/Y9HJfllH59
We share an obligation to ensure all individuals are able to do their jobs without threats of violence or fear for their safety. This can only be accomplished with effective coordination and engagement with our law enforcement partners and United States Attorney offices…
As a result, the Counterterrorism and Criminal Divisions created a threat tag, EDUOFFICIALS, to track instances of related threats. We ask that your offices apply the threat tag to investigations and assessments of threats specifically directed against school board administrators, board members, teachers, and staff. The purpose of the threat tag is to help scope this threat on a national level and provide an opportunity for comprehensive analysis of the threat picture for effective engagement with law enforcement partners at all levels.

Did Garland lie (or at the very least “mislead” the House members) at his October 21 appearance before the House Judiciary Committee? He told the committee that he couldn’t ‘imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children, nor … a circumstance where they would be labeled as domestic terrorists…I do not think parents getting angry at school boards for whatever reason constitute domestic terrorism. It’s not even a close question.’
Ad yet, here we have document showing that the FBI is using counterterrorism tools to investigate parents. The FBI denies it’s targeting parents, yet there it is in a written form. But the real threats are apparently being ignored.
Should counterterrorism tools be used in this case?
So what constitutes a threat? One Black activist went to a school board meeting in Fort Worth recently who was in favor of CRT in the schools and literally threatened to bring 1,000 soldiers with him to the next meeting who were “locked and loaded.”
Pro-critical race theory activist Malikk Austin tells Fort Worth parents that he has "over 1,000 soldiers ready to go" and that they will come "locked and loaded" to the next meeting. Austin is a former member of the The Brotherhood black militia group.pic.twitter.com/X1pspzsXvM

Parents were upset at the threatening display at the Fort Worth School Board meeting on Nov 10 and demanded that Kent Scribner, School District Superintendent, resign. One of the parents, whose children are biracial, actually turned Malikk Austin in to the FBI because she felt threatened. Will they investigate him? Unlikely.
None of the parents except that one threatened an army of soldiers to force their wishes. Malikk Austin used a terroristic threat to force his opinion on others. But in the woke world of the FBI, ordinary parents (with no army of armed Black people behind them) who don’t want their children brainwashed and aren’t using these kinds of threats are being targeted by the FBI.
GOP House Judiciary Members are demanding that Merrick Garland come back and explain his testimony. Parents are apparently getting the “domestic terrorist” treatment after all. Did Garland lie? Did his memo set in motion a series of events that will have far reaching consequences for normal parents? Stay tuned.
