Dem Sheila Jackson Lee Claimed She “Held an AR”

 In 2nd Amendment

Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) appears to have a shortfall of information about guns. She claimed to have held an actual AR-15. She also claimed that it contained .50 caliber bullets and the gun was as “heavy as 10 boxes.” Isn’t there therapy for delusion? She needs an intervention.

Here’s her statement to reporters:

“I don’t know what else it takes but I don’t believe we can stop at the door of the United States House. I believe there will have to be an emergence of members of the House flooding the United States Senate for Senator McConnell to understand that these initiatives today, my gun storage bill, my bill that I’ve introduced dealing with the caliber weapon, I’ve held an AR-15 in my hand, I wish I had it. It is as heavy as 10 boxes that you might be moving and the bullet that is utilized, a .50-caliber, these kinds of bullets need to be licensed and do not need to be on the street.”

Stunning ignorance from a lawmaker. We seem to have many legislators in Congress that have little to no actual understanding of anything, let alone guns.

AR’s do not shoot .50 caliber rounds (they primarily chamber .223 or 5.56). Confusing the AR with “military assault weapons” (since .50 caliber are utilized as machine gun armor-piercing rounds, among other uses) is a left wing tactic. And it works with people who never look anything up. Everyone thinks she is just ignorant, but maybe she’s following the left wing playbook.

ARs only weigh from 6.5 to 7.5 pounds, although some can weigh significantly less, as we have reported previously. If you’re only packing your “10 boxes” with packing peanuts, maybe they’d be as heavy as an AR. Personally, I think her claim of “holding an AR” is bogus. She’d be too afraid of it to actually hold one.

Rep Lee proposed three gun bills in July, which were passed through the Democrat-controlled House. They’re in the Senate somewhere in a closet beneath the piles of other radical unconstitutional legislation, hopefully never to be seen again. They are listed on her website:

Kimberly Vaughan Firearm Safe Storage Act. This bill regulates the proper storage of firearms and ammunition for residences with a minor or a person that is ineligible to own a firearm.  With the changes in this bill, an individual would be restricted from storing a firearm in a residence under the control of a person that knows an individual under 18 is likely to get access to the firearm without their permission, or if there is a resident that is ineligible to possess a firearm under Federal, State, or local law.

Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act. “This bill creates a process for the license and registration of firearms and the possession of certain ammunition.  For the registry, each person will have to transmit the make, model, and serial number of the firearm, along with the identity of the owner, the date the firearm was acquired, and where the firearm will be stored.”

The Santa Fe High School Victims Act.  This bill prohibits the purchase or sale of a firearm or ammunition unless it is through a federally licensed dealer that meets additional requirements.  This bill also increases the cost to renew a license to deal in firearms other than destructive devices.

She is not the only legislator who is clueless. Blue Lives Matter noted,

U.S. Representative Carolyn McCarthy recently had to admit to Tucker Carlson on FOX News that she had no idea what the “barrel shroud” featured in her “assault weapons” bill was, according to AmmoLand.

New York Democrat Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington’s ignorance about .50-caliber rounds was also astounding.

“But some of these bullets as you saw have an incendiary device on the tip of it, which is a heat-seeking device, so you don’t shoot deer with a bullet that size. If you do, you could cook it at the same time,” Eddington said.

Stunning, isn’t it? Did you know that your bullets are like heat-seeking missiles?  These are elected officials whose knowledge is zilch.  And yet they are preparing legislation for Americans. What about that “shall not be infringed” part of the Constitution…

I am from Texas and I live next to SJL’s district. We are not frightened. We are strong and determined citizens who know we are safe because we have access to arms. We do not fear the government or our neighbors because in Texas we honor the right to bear arms as afforded us by the Constitution. We know that guns are tools and that since the gun has no malcontent for man it is mankind’s heart that is the issue and not guns. False narratives aside, history teaches us that governments that take guns also take other rights. Free speech and even life itself will be next. Look at Hitler. Look at Mussolini. Look at Castro. I am not a political person. I actually detest the division and the us versus them mentality I see even in this article, but I believe the suggestion of things like Red Flag laws are the first step to a police state. What is seen as a gun problem is actually a heart problem. A few radicalized, malcontents (who are often on mind-altering drugs) who latch onto hate and murderous thoughts are the problem: not the millions of law abiding citizens who own guns for their family’s protection, the neighbor’s welfare, and sport (hunting and shooting.) I don’t even own a gun but you better believe I honor other people’s right to. We need to take a stand. We need to vote so the representatives in office ACTUALLY represent those in their neighborhoods. How is this woman still in office? I know I live next door to her district, but come on Houston. What are you doing?
