Colorado Democrats voted down a bill that would have required doctors to give life-saving measures to a child born alive after an abortion attempt. The vote was 6-3 in the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee – it’s known as the “kill committee, ” which is why the bill was sent there instead of somewhere else. The dramatic schism between life and death in America is deepening.
The Born Alive Child Physician Relationship Act, HB 1068, was designed to prevent infanticide – the killing of a live baby before or after an attempted abortion. (Daily Wire)Democrats didn’t want it.
“The bill establishes a physician-patient relationship between a child born alive after or during an abortion and the physician who performed or attempted to perform the abortion. The bill requires the physician to exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious physician would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age and requires that the child born alive be immediately transferred to a hospital. The bill creates a civil penalty of $100,000 for a violation enforceable by the attorney general, makes a violation a class 3 felony, and makes a conviction unprofessional conduct for licensing purposes.” HB 1068
The Colorado legislature just voted down a bill that would require a doctor to provide medical care to a child who is born alive after surviving an abortion.
A child is born, in need of help, and the Colorado legislature voted against mandating care.
God have mercy.

You can always count on Democrats to say they'll protect the little guy, except when the little guys weighs 6 pounds and is 19.5” long – then the little guy needs to fear for his life. #coleghttps://t.co/2U6fq0DbYJ

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control, as well as the personal testimonies of nurses and abortion survivors themselves, also provide evidence that babies survive abortions. According to the CDC, at least 143 babies were born alive after botched abortions between 2003 and 2014 in the U.S., though there likely are more.
The Colorado Democrats also voted down HB 1098, a measure banning abortion after 22 weeks gestation. Same party lines: 6-3.
The vote was along party lines, as nearly every other vote has been in Democrat-controlled areas. Dems claimed they blocked it because it would have “restricted” access to abortion.
Republicans stated that HB 1068 wasn’t an “abortion bill,” but a bill about murder.
“It’s not an abortion bill. It’s a murder bill.” Shane Sandridge, Bill sponsor of HB 1068
“I’ve been listening to testimony after testimony on both sides of these issues and liberals will side with the women’s right to choose. Conservatives side with the right to life of the child. In this circumstance there is only one party that is inflicted with horrific violence and that is the child….If you lean towards protecting a woman’s right to choose, you do so by inflicting horrible violence upon a child to end its life. That’s just not right.” Jeff Hunt
“It’s unfortunate, because there is a large population of Coloradans that support this common-sense restriction, so that we can protect life and ensure the right to life is upheld.” Republican Rep. Dave Williams
“We are talking about children born alive.” Kristi Burton Brown, Public policy lawyer and vice chair of the Colorado Republican Party
“It is outrageous that a born-alive human person may be subjected to lethal violence with impunity or be treated as if she is medical waste.” Jennifer Popik, National Right to Life Legislative director (CBN)
In Colorado, as in Virginia and New York, Democrats have chosen this path of violence toward innocent babies. There are consequences of such actions, if not in this life, most definitely in the next.
