CIA Director Met With Taliban: What Was That About?

Suspicion of the government is at an all time high, with Biden’s mishandling of Afghanistan. But when the CIA Director met with the Taliban recently, a whole lot of people are asking questions. Laura Ingraham is just one who asked some serious questions, and advocated for an investigation.

Story continues below:

In her “Ingraham Angle” monologue on Tuesday, host Laura Ingraham called on Congress to fully investigate what she called “Joe’s Taliban deal” – after CIA Director William Burns traveled to Kabul to negotiate directly with Taliban leadership amid an intensifying geopolitical and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan

“This raises lots of questions. First, why send the CIA director and not a State Department official?  What were the parameters of the talks?  Did the CIA director push to get the August 31 deadline extended?  Did he ask if any Americans were being held against their will or demand their release and safe passage?  If so, what did we give up for that guarantee?” she asked…

“Why are non-Americans being evacuated before Americans? How many Americans are likely to be left behind?  What will happen to them? How many non-Americans are being brought to this country? Is there any reason to believe that the vetting is being done in accordance with US law?  Is there any reason to believe that the vetters have any interest other than open borders? Where are the non-Americans going to be settled? Do state and local officials have any say in this matter?”

Another big question, Ingraham asserted is again whether the United States government is paying the Taliban to keep them from attacking the Hamid Karzai International Airport, where throngs of people are trying to get through to the last American-held position in the country…

“Raise your hand if you trust the people behind the border crisis and Afghanistan debacle to properly vet each and every one of these people. The fact is we’ve already seen potential bad actors nearly slip through the system … The Democrats cannot be allowed to take a crisis of their own making, and use that crisis to change or flout US refugee policy.  They’ve already tried that on the border – because they turned the border into a magnet and women and babies are showing up there, we now have to let them in even if doing so is contrary to US law,” she said.

Ingraham’s questions are valid ones – it is extremely unusual for a CIA director to take the place of a State Department official. And that Biden capitulated to the Taliban on the August 31st deadline shortly after the news of Burns’ meeting is creepy. Somebody knows something. Some evacuees connected to the Taliban have been located in airlifts from other nations, which shows that the ‘vetting’ process is incomplete in the big rush to get out, despite what Biden says.

According to the Pentagon, another helicopter mission occurred yesterday, with 4,400 Americans so far evacuated. Literally tens of thousands of Afghans have also been evacuated. It would be good to know exactly what the CIA Director said to the Taliban, especially in light of their “red line” statement.
