Brussels Attacks – ISIS, Bombs, and a Manhunt

Belgian police conducted raids in Brussels and Antwerp that netted an explosive device with nails, chemicals, and an ISIS flag, as a desperate manhunt has ensued for the people responsible for Tuesday’s attacks. ISIS claimed responsibility just after the explosions that rocked the city.

Desperate Manhunt

Police released a photo of the men suspected of the bombings – two of the men on the left were both wearing a glove on their left hand, which may have covered ignition devices. The third man was seen running from the scene after the attacks, and is suspected of working with the others.

Belgian police have issued the image  and asked the public to notify authorities if they know who he is. “Wanted #TERRORISM Who recognizes this man?” is the caption on his picture.

A raid in the Brussels neighborhood of Schaerbeek produced an ISIS flag, some chemical products, and an explosive device filled with nails. The Schaerbeek area is where Salah Abdeslam was arrested. A second suicide vest was detonated by police when it was found after the attacks.

ISIS claims credit

ISIS claimed credit for the Brussels attacks in a post on an ISIS -linked account on Telegram, a social media. According to Fox News,

“Islamic State fighters carried out a series of bombings with explosive belts and devices on Tuesday, targeting an airport and a central metro station in the center of the Belgian capital Brussels, a country participating in the international coalition against the Islamic State.Islamic State fighters opened fire inside Zaventem Airport, before several of them detonated their explosive belts, as a martyrdom bomber detonated his explosive belt in the Maalbeek [sic] Metro station. The attacks resulted in more than 230 dead and wounded.”

The message also included pictures of cities with the caption “We are already in your city.”

Are these revenge attacks for arresting Abdeslam? Or simply because Belgium is part of the coalition? Or are they the actions of a psychotic Islamic terror group who love to kill and breed terror just because they can? Bingo.
