Trenton, Michigan- Ash Hampton’s son Cameron is in 6th grade at Boyd Arthurs Middle School. He went to art class yesterday to find an article on the overhead projector that blatantly called the President a liar. Art class. Not Social studies, or American Government…Art class. Cameron’s father is livid, and with good reason.
Update: Ms. VanNoord has stated that leaving the article on the screen was totally unintentional. She has never done anything like that before throughout her career.
Here is the article that is up on the screen in this “Art” class:
The art teacher at the Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School is Laura VanNoord, who has been with the school district for 15 years. But she is seriously out of line for leaving this “subliminal message” on the overhead projector for her 6th grade art class to view. She didn’t say anything about the item, just left it on the screen.
Mr. Hampton contacted the Principal, Stephanie O’Connor, who agreed with him that it was wrong for an Art teacher to put the article on her screen, but Mr. Hampton is not confident that anything will be done about it.
“She put that up on the screen with no conversation and no context. This is nothing more than indoctrination. What was she doing?” Ash Hampton
Mr. Hampton, a USMC veteran, contacted another school administrator about the issue, and he said that the teacher deviated from her curriculum, which is not right. She had a responsibility to make sure no child ever saw the overhead.
Whether or not the Art teacher receives any discipline whatsoever is anyone’s guess. Mr. Hampton would like to draw attention to these serious problems in our public schools.
“Where are we going in this country? They are supposed to teach our children to love our country, and respect our leaders, but they are not doing it. Karl Marx told you that the populace has to be “dumbed down” in order to institute his agenda. That is exactly what is happening. There isn’t even any normal curriculum being taught…
We have children who can’t cope with life. They have no skill set. If everyone is “right” and everyone “gets a trophy” then no one can handle any let down at all. So we have them all crying and freaking out over everything. I just got through 8 years of someone whose policies I didn’t like, and you didn’t see me crying- I picked my battles and stood for what was necessary. These kids can’t do that.” Ash Hampton
