A post appeared on Facebook that has literally gone viral.
“To the higher powers that be: You have suggested we Marines NOT wear our uniforms to recruiting stations for “our own protection”. Let me make myself clear. If I’m not going to hide in Afghanistan during a war, why in the hell would I EVER hide in my own country? The day us Marines run and hide from our enemies will be the day this country falls. We won’t EVER let that happen. We WILL continue to wear our uniform with pride. ” Sgt McCall
The Sgt stated in his post that his words, along with his Marine brother Ben Reynolds, along with the actions of many would “restore hope.” Then he asked readers to “Tag 3 ppl and spread the word!”
Never p*** off Marines
Sgt McCall said it for all US Marines. After the terrorist attack in Chattanooga, the Pentagon told recruiters to lower their blinds and not wear their uniforms. The same request was issued in Europe in November.
It’s the same mentality as the current administration who says that if ISIS just had “jobs” the whole Islamic jihad would go away. They’re just “misunderstood.”
The decision to leave our military unarmed is a decision made by fools who think that being “nice” will keep our enemies at bay. They have labelled the citizens who have come to the aid of recruiters with arms as “security threats.”
It’s full on BS.
United States Marines do not run. They do not cower in the corner when the battlefield is brought to their doorstep. How do I know that? Because so many of the military and civilian leaders of the past knew it. They understood that to be a Marine is to wear that distinction forever. There are no “former” Marines. But there are many who will not take this government’s lack of response to the shootings in Chattanooga lying down.
Semper Fi, Sgt McCall.
Being ready is not what matters. What matters is winning after you get there.

For over 221 years our Corps has done two things for this great Nation. We make Marines, and we win battles.

You’ll never get a Purple Heart hiding in a foxhole! Follow me!
Capt. Henry P. Crowe, USMC; Guadalcanal, 13 January 1943
We are United States Marines, and for two and a quarter centuries we have defined the standards of courage, esprit, and military prowess.
Gen. James L. Jones, USMC (CMC); 10 November 2000
You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth- and the amusing thing about it is that they are.
