As someone will realize almost immediately, the title of this article comes from G.W. Bush’s bullhorn address from the attack on 9-11. When he stood there, at ground zero among first responders and rescue workers, and made sure that the world knew the giant had been awakened.
I won’t focus on the obvious differences G.W. had with the current occupant of the White House. Each one of the two will-and already is- judged by his actions; it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out which one has turned out to be a complete failure.
Bush’s speech, one of his best (if not the best) was focused not only in comforting a wounded nation but also in warning anyone who had to do, or knew something regarding the attacks. This warning could be summarized in the following words ‘better start praying, the Americans will be coming for you soon’.
Time is subject to our perspective, when we study history, years sometimes seem like moments and centuries like hours. Therefore ‘soon’ in the historical perspective could mean anything from one hour to one century. Of course George W. had in mind the upcoming invasions of Afghanistan, but it turns out that this was just the beginning.
Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act
Recently some reports were released, in which it was made evident that Saudi Arabia was linked to the 9-11 attacks. A few days ago the congress passed the ‘Justice Against the Sponsors of Terrorism Act’, allowing the families of the victims of the 9-11 attacks to sue Saudi Arabia in U.S. courts.
Though it is uncertain whether or not Obama will veto the act, one thing is for sure. The Congress and the American public have began to shift their attention away (not entirely of course) from the foot soldiers to the masterminds behind this war of terror against the west.
Today its 9-11 2016, fifteen years after the planes struck the Towers and the Pentagon. The masterminds and funders of the attacks who considered themselves untouchables are almost done praying. Soon they’ll hear a sound on the door.
