7 year old’s first deer hunt goes viral

North Texas: Cody Klapper’s daughter Lilly is 7 years old. She recently shot her very first deer, and her dad posted her accomplishment online. The video has 2.6 Million views as of this writing and counting.

Liberals always have difficulty with children around firearms, or killing animals. Controversy has raged over many celebrities and others who trained their young children in the use and safety of firearms. Mr. Klapper seems to have done an awesome job with Lilly.

Fox 4 reported on Dec 2,

Klapper says his daughter has practiced shooting ever since she was 5 years old. The proud father says he recently felt Lilly was prepared to shoot her first deer and wanted to capture the milestone on camera.

“We have a passion for the outdoors, and it was primarily intended to be for family and friends,” Klapper said. “But now that it has had 1.4 million views, I hope that it inspires other parents to get their children into the outdoors.”

For those of us who also grew up around firearms at a young age, we think it’s great that Mr. Klapper has the courage to train Lilly how to use firearms. Her focus is intense, her trigger pull smooth, and according to the video she didn’t even notice she actually got the deer until she was done.

On his Facebook post, Mr. Klapper wrote,

“I respect and understand that this video may not be for everyone. If you think that you might be offended by this video that has my daughter shooting a deer with a modern hunting rifle, please keep scrolling.”

I hope he doesn’t get too much flak. Dads who train their kids to be strong and self-sufficient are almost an anomaly in today’s world. Lilly will be able to get her own food and will know how to protect herself. Those a qualities for young people that are priceless!
