Approximately 2000 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division and 18th Airborne Corps will move from Fort Bragg to Germany and Poland, as 1000 soldiers will relocate to Romania from an Army Stryker contingent in Germany. A total of around 3000 troops are headed to NATO’s Eastern flank, according to John Kirby, Pentagon spokesman. He stated that none of these deployments are permanent. He also mentioned that the DoD has information that the Russians may fake an attack as a pretext in order to invade the Ukraine.

3,000 troops and a propaganda plan

“We believe that Russia would produce a very graphic propaganda video, which would include corpses and actors that would be depicting mourners and images of destroyed locations, as well as military equipment at the hands of Ukraine or the West, even to the point where some of this equipment would be made to look like it was Western supplied to Ukraine equipment.”

John Kirby, Pentagon spokesman (The Hill)

Remember there are US 8500 troops already on alert in case NATO activates the NDF. The 3000 troops in this new deployment are being prepositioned in case something happens. The Pentagon claimed that they published the Russian plan in an effort to dissuade them from following through with it. Putin is not stupid. Ruthless, maybe, stupid no. There are those in the Special Forces community who say that in spite of all the troops and military buildup around Ukraine, there are only enough forces for Biden’s favorite “minor incursion”… not a full scale invasion.

…the Russia build up so far is not sufficient for anything but a limited incursion into Ukraine let alone a full scale invasion. Thus far we still have not seen reports of field hospitals and the large ammo and fuel dumps needed to move and support large armor formations on the offensive.

Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated in a video published by CNN, “Nobody is threatening anyone with military action, this will be just a madness to do that.”

The President of Ukraine recently criticized the West and NATO for stoking panic in his country with talk of an imminent invasion by Russia.

If Putin’s purpose is to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, and he sees US and NATO involvement as a threat to Russia, what’s the real end game? It’s obvious that something is up, but what that “something” is…that’s anyone’s guess.
