1st Black American Confirmed as Air Force Chief of Staff

By Faye Higbee

Amid the race baiting and lies of the media, General Charles C.Q. Brown Jr was unanimously confirmed as the  Air Force Chief of Staff. He is the first black American to lead a military branch, and replaces retiring General David Goldfein. But to see the media, you’d think racism is so rampant that his confirmation couldn’t possibly happen. It did, and he’s the right man for the job.

We previously wrote about his nomination. He was unanimously confirmed by the Senate on Tuesday.

Vice President Pence presided over the vote, as he does in case of a tie. But the vote wasn’t even close: 98-0. It made the confirmation historic.

NBC reported:

Brown most recently served as the commander of U.S. Pacific Air Forces. He is a fighter pilot, with more than 2,900 flying hours, including 130 in combat.

He posted a video on social media Friday describing a lifetime of dealing with racial bias and the struggle to fit in to a predominantly white society.

“I’m thinking about my Air Force career where I was often the only African American in my squadron or, as a senior officer, the only African American in the room,” he said in a raw tone. “I’m thinking about wearing the same flight suit with the same wings on my chest as my peers and being questioned by another military member: ‘Are you a pilot?’”

The General was chosen for the Air Force Chief of Staff because of his expertise in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Well-rounded, and knowledgeable.

If Trump were actually racist, General Brown would never have been chosen. Twitter users claimed he was “bought,” which would make the General angry. No one “buys” CQ Brown Jr. He’s guided by his own four tenets: “execute at a high standard; be disciplined in execution; pay attention to the details; and have fun.”

Lord knows, we need  that right now all over America.
